ABOUT
Sara Čeh (1995, Ptuj, Slovenia) is a contemporary artist working across painting, assemblage and spatial image-based practices. She studied painting at the Art House School of Drawing and Painting in Ljubljana between 2014 and 2017, graduating in 2017.
Her artistic practice is rooted in continuous experimentation and material research. Working primarily with acrylic and oil on canvas, she frequently incorporates unconventional materials, assemblage elements and photographic fragments into layered compositions that exist on the boundary between abstraction and representation.
Her work explores texture, surface and physical presence, transforming painting into an object that oscillates between image, material and space. She has participated in various art projects, group exhibitions and artistic residencies, and presented her first overview exhibition at Tovarna umetnosti Majšperk in 2017.
Since 2022, she has been working from her studio in the centre of Ptuj, Slovenia.
